By Jonathan Pagano who later released two solo albums as simply 'Jonathan,' played Melodic Hard Rock similar to Journey, with analogies to the group augmented by the similarities of Jonathan's Vocals to Steve Perry's. Liquid Earth, the Band's sophomer release has a generally Softer tone than the debut, despite the addition of a second Guitarist. This CD favors ballads, including the two hits "Right In The Middle" and "Heaven's On My Mind."

1991's One Big Sky is the debut album from Christian Melodic Rockers Novella, whose sound seems to draw equally from Bon Jovi and Petra. They're not as bombastic (or, to be frank, talented) as the former and not as heavy handed with their faith as the latter.

The band's laid back, melodic approach fits their message, though there are times listening to this album that you just wish they'd take Stryper's advice and Rock, Rock, rock! It doesn't really stand out the way similar releases from Giant or Bad English did,

But One Big Sky is a Solid Melodic Rock album that should appeal to anyone who enjoys the lighter side of the late 80's to early 90's arena rock sound, regardless of your religious leanings (or lack thereof.

Novella, lead by Jonathan Pagano who later released two solo albums as simply 'Jonathan,' played melodic hard rock similar to Journey, with analogies to the group augmented by the similarities of Jonathan's vocals to Steve Perry's. This debut release has a harder-rocking edge than their follow-up, Liquid Earth.

Man is this a solid album. Very good band, some great songs and just a fine effort. Melodic Rock / AOR fans will enjoy this one. Classy, reminding me a little of Giant.
